A collection of images Photography goes beyond the simple
recording of events. It stimulates memories, emotions, and a greater
appreciation of the world around us. Each photographer will see and
capture images in their own way. onephoto's
Gallery section features a variety of images with varied themes. As
a departure from natural bright colors at the Albuquerque balloon festival, the
image below was captured using a slow shutter speed and kept almost
monochromatic. New in May 2001 was a series of black and white images shot downtown Houston,
Texas. The downtown area is currently undergoing a transformation, and
these images are the first of a series designed to record the downtown
cityscape. For best effects, double click on each image to see a higher
quality, larger photograph. The black and white
phototographs in this series are being offered as limited edition fine art
prints. Email for details.
Previous Gallery Photographs:
| Three photographs that were taken to capture
the memories of childhood. Also very applicable for concept
photographs. Compare the confidence of the small boy in the top
right picture to the apprehension in the lower right picture.
The technique section explains how to take picture like
this, using cross processing for the color image and plastic cameras for
the black and whites. |

| Venice Beach, LA. A late evening shot
taken with a perspective control lens to deliberately blur the people.
Right: Venice Beach, volleyball net. |

|
Napa Valley, California. An image that
captures the essence of wine appreciation.
The shot was taken with a plastic camera on black and
white film and then sepia toned in the computer. See Technique.

| Images of South America, from a church in the
Venezuelan Andes, to the dresses of spinning Samba dancers in Rio and a
street scene in Cartagena, Colombia.
The subtleties of color and texture in the Cartagena
scene blend well. Blues and pinks in the woman's dress match the
walls and window, and the old flaking paint on the walls contrasts with
the newly painted window. |
